Red wine La Perdición

Our red wine, La Perdición, is a great Mediterranean wine with an exquisite fruity flavor and an elegant bouquet full of notes of ripe fruit, soft tannins, and a long, seductive finish. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, it features a mineral character derived from our Rodeno soils, with a hint of iron that makes it unique.

Characteristics

Production

This wine comes from vineyards planted on calcareous and gravelly soils with a sandy-loam texture. The grapes are harvested by hand into small 10-kg crates, with each cluster carefully selected in the field. About 20% of the grapes are fermented on the stems, while the rest are gently destemmed to preserve the whole berries and enhance the aromas through carbonic maceration. After a controlled 10-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks with gentle pumping over, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, where it ages for about 12 months before final bottling.

Tasting Notes for La Perdición Red Wine

A lovely cuvée from vineyards cultivated in the Alto Palancia mountain range. It has a purplish-red color with medium depth. This wine is full of harmony, balance, and fresh fruit. On the nose, it is a delicate wine full of Mediterranean notes such as rosemary, thyme, sage, lavender, pine, and balsamic notes. The notes of strawberries and ripe cherries are very intense and are accompanied by lovely smoky and toasty notes from its time in the barrel. On the palate, it is very harmonious and balanced, with fine, fresh tannins that will allow it to age well over the coming years. A wine of great elegance where balance is its hallmark.
